Concrete construction joints can show fine cracks or cavities during the natural curing process. This could cause water to infiltrate into the concrete. In contact with water, Bikol® SWELLSTRIP PLUS will swell up to 500% of its initial volume and make the construction waterproof. Also cavities and fine cracks are efficiently sealed.
Bikol® SWELLSTRIP PLUS retains its shape after multiple dry/wet cycles (MFPA certificates) and has good resistance to wide range of chemicals (chemical resistance list).
Bikol® SWELLSTRIP PLUS is glued with Bikol® PU-HM polyurethane.

Method of application:
The Bikol® SWELLSTRIP PLUS system functions efficaciously when the application instructions are observed.
- Make sure the concrete is dry, smooth and free of dust or any other contaminants.
- Glue Bikol® SWELLSTRIP PLUS with Bikol® PU-HM polyurethane polyurethane glue in the middle of the construction joint, observing a free space of about 6 cm at both sides of the inner and outer rebars to absorb pressure during swelling. Or alternatively nail Bikol® SWELLSTRIP PLUS with 25 cm intervals.
- Do not install in overlap but by simply butting together the roll ends.
Though Bikol® SWELLSTRIP PLUS is supplied with a water retardant coating, it is recommended not to install the system during heavy rainfall to avoid premature swelling before pouring the vertical concrete walls.
