SiloTreat offers two types of concrete impregnators - deep hydrophobic impregnator Concrete DH and surface impregnator Concrete BE.
What is the difference between the two types of SiloTreat concrete impregnators?
SiloTreat Concrete DH deep impregnation concrete
SiloTreat Concrete DH is a transparent, colourless product suitable for impregnating concrete, especially low porosity concrete (sanded and stamped concrete). SiloTreat Concrete DH penetrates up to 1 cm deep into the concrete and creates a vapour-permeable, colourless impregnation without a wet effect. The impregnator reduces the penetration of liquids into the concrete and increases the stability of its surface, subjected to cycles of freezing and thawing. SiloTreat Concrete DH does not form a "bead" effect on the concrete surface.
SiloTreat Concrete DH can be applied over paints. SiloTreat Concrete DH is applied by hand.
The product complies with the requirements of BDS EN 1504-2. It can be used according to principles 1, 2, 5 and 6 of BDS EN 1504-9.
Surface impregnator for concrete SiloTreat Concrete BE
SiloTreat Concrete BE is a surface impregnator for concrete, which protects concrete structures and elements from the penetration of liquids and salts and other aggressive chemicals contained in water. SiloTreat Concrete BE does not seal the surface of the concrete and does not change its appearance.
After impregnating the concrete with Concrete BE, the liquids on the surface are retained in the form of a drop and can be easily removed by careful wiping. In most cases, SiloTreat Concrete BE is applied with one hand.
How to achieve optimal impregnation of concrete?
For best results, we recommend that you use the SiloTreat Concrete DH deep concrete impregnator in combination with the SiloTreat Concrete BE surface impregnator.
Apply the Concrete DH deep impregnator with one hand and after 2 (two) weeks apply SiloTreat Concrete BE surface impregnator. By combining the two impregnators, you will create even more durable and long-lasting protection for your concrete.
How are SiloTreat concrete impregnators applied?
SiloTreat impregnators are applied by spraying with airless spray guns (HVLP machines). In this way the products will penetrate evenly and deeply into the concrete.
How long after the construction of new concrete can SiloTreat impregnators be applied?
We recommend that you wait for the concrete to mature as the optimal time is 28 days and not less than 14 days after its construction.
How often should SiloTreat concrete impregnators be applied?
The property of the deep hydrophobic impregnator SiloTreat Concrete DH to penetrate to great depths and to be highly reactive and resistant to alkaline environments make it extremely durable and suitable for single impregnation.
Depending on the type of concrete, the environment in which it is exposed and the method of impregnation, we recommend that the surface impregnator Concrete BE be applied every 2-3 years or when the surface begins to get wet. The product acts with accumulation, which allows for each subsequent impregnation the cost to be significantly lower than the previous one.
