DRACOLEVEL is a one-component, polymer-modified, self-levelling cementitious mortar based on hydraulic binders, designed for floors requiring high mechanical strength and abrasion resistance. The product is fast-setting, making it particularly suitable for projects with tight deadlines.
DRACOLEVEL is applied in thicknesses from 5 to 40 mm and is suitable both for levelling and repairing damaged substrates, as well as for use as a base layer for polymer flooring systems.
Key Advantages
- Fast application – quick and easy installation, even at low temperatures down to -5°C
- Short waiting time before coatings – polymer coatings can be applied after 24–48 hours
- High abrasion and impact resistance – ideal for industrial floors with heavy traffic
- High early and final mechanical strength – excellent compressive strength during rapid and normal curing
- Excellent adhesion to concrete and ceramic substrates
- Resistance to positive and negative water pressure
- “Finished floor” effect – can be left exposed without additional coatings
Applications
DRACOLEVEL is a fast-setting, self-levelling cementitious mortar suitable for a wide range of applications:
- Construction of wear-resistant floors in residential and industrial buildings
- Levelling of new and existing concrete, ceramic and natural stone surfaces
- Repair of concrete floors prior to the application of polymer coatings
- Flooring in shops, restaurants, supermarkets and exhibition halls
- Industrial floors in the food, chemical and textile industries
Substrate Preparation
Cleaning
- Remove all loose particles, cement laitance and contaminants
- Eliminate oils, greases, paints, dust and other substances that may reduce adhesion
Preparation
- Concrete substrates – mechanical surface roughening by milling or shot blasting
- Ceramic substrates – removal of surface gloss by grinding or blasting
- Prime with PRIMER E and broadcast with quartz sand
- For highly porous substrates, apply a second coat of primer
Mixing
DRACOLEVEL is a one-component product mixed with 18–20% water (4.5–5 litres of water per 25 kg bag).
- Mix using a low-speed drill with a mixing paddle
- Initially add approximately 80% of the required water
- Add the remaining water after achieving a homogeneous mix
- Use the product within 15 minutes after mixing at approximately 20°C
Application
DRACOLEVEL is applied manually or by pump in a thickness of 5 to 40 mm and spread using a trowel or rubber squeegee. For floors intended for polishing, a minimum thickness of 10 mm is required.
Final Finish
If DRACOLEVEL is left exposed, the surface must be protected with a suitable finishing treatment to prevent absorption. Apply the finishing layer approximately 3 days after casting. Before applying polymer coatings such as DURAFLOOR or DRACOFLOOR, roughen the surface by shot blasting.
Surface Polishing
Floors made with DRACOLEVEL can be polished 2–3 days after application using diamond tools to achieve a smooth, terrazzo-like finish. This process creates micro-pores that must be properly filled and sealed. Finishing can be carried out using a non-absorbent, water-repellent treatment such as WEPOX FINITURA or similar products.
